Isn't that being sold by 'Linegeist' late of our club - hasn't been around for a while.

Blaming the wife is a bit weak!

I really think ole Bob Linegeist should have been politician - he's got a real way with words and a delicate hand with the 'truth'

Didn't he blame ageing for getting rid of the BXs - I might accept that from a 90year old but he still looks relatively spry! Then, wasn't he moving to Reading? And now it's the wife! And the Bora that he used to slag off - is that his ride now?

I would perhaps assume he would check in here to see our thoughts on his BX sale but he's too heavily wrapped up in The Smart Forum! :D
( please Bob don't shoot me - I know you're heavily 'tooled up' as well)

I accept no responsibility for writing any of this, the wife made me do it!

Look again at the condition of this car, its worth every penny(if your into petrols). Bob maintained this to the highest standards, beautifull car for someone to cherish. Buying a low mileage genuine car like this is much better than buying a cheaper shed and spending£*** on it IMHO

Or look at it another way, under a grand for a car with 6 months tax and a full MOT....Ian Fearn's 1.6 auto sold on eBay for around £1300. To me, if something is unlikely to sell straight away than I see little point in taxing it before a sale.

I've seen it in the flesh a couple of times and it looks good - and if he maintains it as well as he tidies his garage there shouldn't be any worries! I reckon the distance will put people off though, so that may force the price down.

If I had 850 quid to spare I'd have no hesitation in handing it over for that car. I can't remember the exact figures but (according to 'How Many Left') there are about 5 'Athenas' left on the road - that has got to be the best one? Personally, I'd want a set of original wheeltrims though.

My first BX was an athena and I absolutely loved it - one of the nicest looking BXs I think?

Anyway, 850 quid for a completely sorted, historied and low(ish) mileage car in tip top condition - BX or no BX - I think that's pretty good?

Ive met Bob, and found him to be a very agreeable type of chap, he has his own opinions on certain subjects but then again dont we all. I think its as important as the car goes to a good home as the selling price so why not make a sensible offer and see what he says.

I can assure a warm welcome when you do pick it up!. :D

I've messaged him about going down to look at his car at some point, he really seems very confident in the vehicle, claiming absolutely no niggles whatsoever - apart from the limited documentation he got when buying the car. Shame it's so far away, but I do hope I get it, he seems a nice enough fellow with a certain "poetry" to how he writes his PMs :)

Be warned though where he lives the nearest petrol station and corner shop is fair few miles away. Lovely part of the world though, why not make a weekend of it and stop at a local B&B etc.
