In my area, but I'm not tempted. Looks very tired. Anyone going to go for it?

Is that Lucas pumped?

Looks ok but has rotten in the ususal spot around the rear 1/4 (same as the DTR) so will need some welding, hovever the green car with similr miles fetched over £900! so who knows where this may go.

Could be a good save?

Might be one of those situations when the seller may be better off getting an MOT and perhaps selling for a couple of hundred quid.

True, unless he knows more than he is letting on, not sure if that rust holw would be a MOT fail as the bumper is now insecure.

This reminds me. I was sitting in a beer garden after work on Friday afternoon and a red BX estate slowly drove around the road edging the pub. I stood upright and said 'BX!' a bit louder than I intended. The people close by smiled like you do with under 5s, and my wife looked like she was pitying me. It was a bit exciting though. Its the only one ive seen on the road since buying ours.

What a coincidence around 10 years ago I bought an identical turbo estate from Chelmsford. That had no bonnet laquer (no surprise there then) and as I found out half way up the A1 no rear arm bearings. I think i paid 250 quid for it. I gave to a family member who sadly had it crashed into.

Isn't this in Phil's neck of the woods? & wouldn't it make for the perfect challenge car at that price?

I don't understand why the TXD isn't the perfect vehicle for the Citroen classic. 1.9na diesels are great!

I don't know either :? Possibly a bit more noisy at speed due to lower gearing, but thats about it tbh

As I said it is local, but I already have a superb TXD estate here which is at the moment earmarked as our Challenge car. A turbo would be nice, but condition and reliability are far more important.

Having said that the Philibusters might end up with a slightly 'tuned' turbo diesel BX hatch.... watch this space.

At the risk of a mighty Off Topic, are they that undergeared compared to the turbos? I make it about a 300rpm difference at 70mph and mine seemed quite happy sitting at 80mph. Mind you, almost fell out with my BXagon co-pilot before we'd even left the M25 after he hit 90. I almost hit him...
