That will be one smooooth cruiser when all done Phil, and alovely motor to own. may be worth keeping an eye out for agood used tailgate in that colour if possible, may be cheaper than painting the existing one.

Hi Tim, yes, cruiser is what we wanted, for trips to folks in Shropshire, Norfolk and of course forays over the Channel. Trouble is, having bought this and spent some money on it, we'll have to wait until October before we can travel!

Will bring it to the CXM rally though.

I did go to Edwards and have a rummage for a tailgate, but seeing as I can get this one painted for £100, as well as have a spoiler (which I pick up at the rally) painted and fitted I'll go with that. And also I need to get Mr Dent Devil to sort out the lumps and bumps. The whole thing needs a machine polish too.

But we'll get there. Worth the investment given it's only got 82k miles on it.

Must admit - the V6 Xantias are rather fabulous. Mind you, I do question the need for a car that'll do 80mph in second. An LPG-converted one would be a wonderful way to waft about...

There was a V6 with LPG advertised recently - possibly on the FCF?...

Anyway, I don't actually have a V6 - so my 2.0i 8v will have to suffice... :)

Agreed, it goes quite well. Especially noticeable when swapping between that and the TXD :)

It's not as much fun to drive though.

The BX got it's 16th MOT today. Full pass no advisories and even got praise for it's good emissions score. Dennis pointed out that score might be something to do with the fact the Bosch pump might not be supplying quite enough diesel, ( - which would also explain why it's 'possibly a little bit down on power' - cheek!), but he did warn against messing with it as it might screw up the emissions. I must say it feels OK to me - for what I use it for. It's a shame it's not a turbo, but hey, I've got the Xantia if I want more power!

12 month's more BXing it is then. :D

Found this rough visual in a folder I was sorting through. I thought it'd be fun to dress up a white BX in such a way for the Challenge/BX's 30th Anniversay.

Perhaps not

Well i've just ordered the Valeo, Cibie, Total and SKF stickers from "i say ding dong". So this "rough visual" could well in fact be a reality next year. 8)

You'll need a fair smattering of Michelin and Total stickers (we'll be providing the 'Challenge plaques') as well as the word CITROËN in red too. Then FACOM and Champion...

Don't forget the parallel red and blue diagonal stripes on the bonnet and the 'go faster' bits along the tops of the doors  There's also the Citroën Competition sun strip too.

Oh, and there's a biggish Citroën Red chevron panel for the roof :)

As for L'Equipe... that's a custom job.

I plan to do an exclusive special sticker for the door of every BX celebrating the 30th Anniversary.
