Citroen BX 14 Preview for sale, only 40K on clock

This car was left to me after my uncle died, he was a mechanic and looked after it well. Unfortunately when I got it I couldn't afford the insurance so it has sat in my garage on SORN since (approx 2 years). Apart from a flat battery and the usual problems associated with standing still for so long it has no other problems I know of. It was running well and the bodywork is in good condition. It is white, F reg and only has just over 40K miles on the clock. I have decided that it is not a practical family car (I have a young daughter now) so my hopes of one day getting back on the road are no more. I need the garage space so want to sell it. I would like it to go to a good home rather than scrapping it but I appreciate that whoever may want it will have to arrange to take it away themselves so all I can say is "make me an offer!"
If you want any further info please ask, it's difficult to take a picture as the car is in my garage, but will happily take picture of interior or whatever if requested or you can come and view it (I'm in Sheffield)

Hi Jude

Lovely miles, the preview is quite a rare car now, a couple of pictures would be ideal if possile, does the car run now, any rust at all or hydraulic leaks?

Sounds interesting ......and its white! Same questions as roverman - body rust, leaks? Pics would be nice.

Also Roverman (or anyone) what spec is the 'preview'?[/i]

The preview is a 14E, with a GTi style interior, colour coded wheel trims on the white cars (MK1 GT/Mk2 DTR style) and side stripes. So no power steering, windows or central locking, but as they say less is more.

I'm in Heeley, S2 3GU if you have sat nav, as for the other questions I don't think there are any leaks or rust but haven't looked at it for a while so I will try and find time to get in the garage have a good look and take a couple of photo's, watch this space!

If you wanted a starter classic thats useable every day if you wanted then you couldnt do better in my opinion!

Manual choke startfirsttimeyness, cheap tax, good performance for a 1.4 and classic insurance to boot

Got some pictures, bear in mind not easy to take good pictures in a garage and it could do with a wash!

Anyway had a good look, no visible rust, no dints, bit of trim peeled away on the front. Interior in really good nick (better than the car I use!). Don't have a battery charger so I thought I'd take the battery out see if I can get it recharged and see if we can't get her moving again!
I have original booklets and service history, only four previous owners.

I think you shoudl get it MOT'ed and you will have no problems selling it.
