Mine was repaired at a local auto electricians. As mentioned it might be worth a try.
Ive seen plenty on ebay, around £80.

Fixing one isn't a bad idea. I bought a cheap new one (or rather the mechanic I no longer use did) and it was absolutely hopeless.
