A quick update on this one, the "red shed" is now more red than pink and has passed her MOT today
2 new front tyres, a complete exhaust and new nsf wishbone bushes as per its fail sheet so shes ready for the road (I fitted the exhaust myself, and what a pain in the arse!)
Ive also changed the very old oil and filter, air filter, fuel filter, a few bulbs and lamps front and back, yet to do is new aerial (it snapped off when I tried to adjust it
) and fit the clutch cable.
All in all shes got 12 months mot and 5 months tax for less than £350.00 so in my books a bargain!

Its still quite tatty though, lots of bumps and bangs, and it will need some rear spheres and an arm bearing before the Classic Challenge, hovere the inside is mint and SOO plush!.
Since those photos were taken I have smoothrited the sills black too to freshen them up
Shes off to London Sunday to the CCC Board meeting so lets hope she behaves!

Cheers chaps
I must say its a very honest old girl, if a bit rought around the edges, I family owner from new (mother-father then daughter) and has a service history like war and piece.
Everything works and theres not much needed (even has two keys and the remote plip). The only thing it needs is a replacement drivers sde parcel shelf support for a car with split fold fixings and the jack and wheebrace (I think she maybe borrowed that for her new car).
Over the next 11 months I will get her ship shape and solid, if no show winner as it has been bought to be used as a challenge car, then probably for sale once back in blighty.

Another nicely prepared car Tim! Do you have a supply of new wheel trims or something, they always look like they're in tip top condition. Im looking for a set of late trims, same as those on your car.
Also are you painting your bumpers with aerosol or the 'proper' way? Ive decided I need to remove all of the existing paint as it isnt adhering very well to the darker plastic beneath. Not much coming off at present but its just a question of time. I'll then sand with fine grade paper and one coat of primer before a 2/3 coats of grey. Im also toying with the idea of colour coding the bumpers. Not original on a TGD but looks pretty good. Im using aerosol and will use wet/dry paper to even out.

The photos of the red shed are VERY flattering, all I have done to the car so far cosmetically is clean it, but do normally have the bumpers professionally painted and replace scuffed/broken bits of trim when they become available.
Im fortunate that we have a bodyshop where I work, and if I take the bumpers off the car they do them quite cheaply. The 3 Mk2 cars I have all have the two tone smooth type bumpers which were painted bodycolour from new.

(Oh, and the car is Venetian Red - incidentally can anyone supply a code as it's missing from the wing).
I would paint the bumpers the same colour if it were me.
