White BX GTi Automatic "Nice motor mate!"

Post by citrophile »

BX19 GTi Automatic in exceptional condition for year (1990). White & very smart on TSW 3-spoke alloys with black trim & black/grey interior. New spheres for MoT to Sept 2012; taxed April 2012, 117,000 miles only, FSH. Electric sunroof, windows & remote locks, Piranha alarm, radio, air-con etc. Gets admired in petrol stations, car parks etc, but domestic austerity drive dictates must sell! Practical transport but also a collector’s item, hence £1975 ovno. Phone 01442 268592, email rogerharvey@greenbee.net (Herts, near M1/M25)
Roger has been a Citroen fan since he owned a Corgi DS19 model in the late 1950s. He has owned several life-size cars but has always been short of cash to buy those he REALLY wanted. He'd like a top-notch DS, GSA and Ami Super right now!

Bloody hell! Ambitious! In fact thats even beyond valver money...

3 spokes on an angular BX... Phail! (just my opinion).

Good luck though!
I have zero patience for your tedium.

So does mine, but it doesn't make it worth anymore. Most of the people on here have a pretty good idea what the best BXs are worth and you'll be hard pushed to find a buyer at that price. Good luck - you'll need it!

It'd be hard to get a good GTi for under £800 these days... but that price is very ambitious. I would suggest posting a lot more information and pictures and get it on Car and Classic... but maybe set your sights a little lower at £1450. You might be lucky.

Practical Classic's price guide lists a concours condition valver at £2000 and a condition 1 car at £1500. A really exceptional gti 8 valve might make £1300 on a good day. As others have said a good set of pics and a thorough valet does wonders for resale value. Good luck. 8)

You really should all be greatful to the op, setting high targets is the way all collectors items get to be what they're worth, who'd have thought that a pot designed by Claris Cliff for Woolworths to sell at around a quid and made in thousands would now be worth a couple of grand.

Be careful what you wish for Gibbo. At the moment, BXs are wonderfully affordable and so are the parts. If values suddenly shoot up, I bet you anything that parts will start getting extra-pricey as well. Long may the cheap times go on.

sorry, the longer they stay cheap, the faster they reach the scrapyard.

Price guides are just that! Often outdated, and only a guide. Messerschmitts were only £5-6k in the guides for a decade but in the real world, they solf for two, three and four times that on a regular basis.

Supply and demand gentleman, if somoene wants something enought they will pay through the nose. I see that often when we online auction our part exchanges at work and its something a bit rare or very low miles, the "guide" goes out the window.

Point in fact 2008 L200 RedBull DiD, guide price £9200, auction ended afteer 2 people fought it out at £11750!
