That is a TOP car! Although, if I had 5 grand burning a hole in my pocket to buy another car I'd probably start getting all 'CXey'! That's alot for a BX - even if it is the holy grail!?

There were also a lot of them produced (7,500). The real rare one & pricey is the BX 4TC.

50 grand for a good one I noticed somewhere recently. Personally, I think it looks like a car made out of some old fridges  For 50 grand you could get 3 really good SMs or a 50% share in a Chapron DS Decap!?

He's a big lad - he'll survive! Even a man of Phils fine automotive taste and sensibility is allowed a lil' lapse now and again. Anyway, I expect there's much to recommend being able to enjoy fresh milk and a crisp lettuce whilst bombing along a dirt track at 170mph!? :D

I want that. I have to say, 16v is much more special, and a better car, but there's something about the way these look and sound. (From certain angles and ride-hight they do look quite nice  )

At some point in the next five years, I seriously intend on importing one of these.

or 1/5 of a Proper car..
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...

Criky - a quarter of a million quid? There'd be plenty to choose from! Mind you it still wouldn't get you one of these . . .

Now THAT'S a proper car! :D

why would anyone buy a £850,000 Veyrn when you can get a faster, more exclusive better car for a good deal less?

If you had 850 grand in your pocket to buy a Veyron the chances are you still wouldn't have enough to buy the A6G (depending on who you were bidding against at Pebble Beach or wherever)

I think the reason people buy those cars is dead simple . . . because they can. A prospective Veyron owner probably already owns an example of all the other cars that do the same for less (although does anything do the same as a Veyron - assuming it hasn't got a jet engine and wings!?)

I think in the case of cars that command those sorts of price tags, (which are, lets be honest obscene amounts of money) it probably comes down to personal preference. Luckily for the more impecunious (like me) the price tag doesn't really relate to pleasure and pride of ownership. I suspect if I owned a 1954 Zagato bodied Maserati A6G Berlinetta it might give me marginally more pleasure than my BX, but not a million quids worth of 'more pleasure'.

Just catching up... :D

I don't think the BX4TC is pretty, but it is significant. However.... that Sport is delightful... I would. If I could.

Hmmm this is all personal preference/perception but I find many of the body kits on the BX just look badly fitted, even when theyre not, and do nothing for external aesthetics. The stripped down standard BX versions is the best looking, perhaps with the addition of standard alloys. Is the same with the DS with the unnecessary body side trim and the CX which never looked better than in MK1 mode. Simple and elegant.

The 4tc is butt ugly. It looks like a third form project.
