19 TXD Estate - head gasket gone, long MOT & low mileage

Post by medwaycitroen »

Hiya

Selling this BX after one of our customers traded it in for a Xantia when the head gasket went.

The body is good apart from one dent around the filler cap. It has the pretty red pinstripe and black seats which are in great nick. It has a long MOT (19th August 2012) and taxed until end of February 2012.

All in all, once the head is sorted this will be a great BX once more.

£250

Does it still drive or is it a trailer job?

That's got to be a bargain for someone if they can do the work themselves. If I didn't already have two I'd be tempted! Even though it's red...

given the XUDs potential issue with cracked heads after HGs go I'd be inclined to bung in a bottle of K-Seal or Steel-Seal and see if that does the job...drove a BX17 Turbo for 3 years after the HG went - bunged in some K-Seal - car was scrapped by next owner with 280k on the clock and the repair held,

got to be worth a tenner punt before skimming

Considering a TZD turbo sold today for £1000 I think this is still very good value, and FAR too good to scrap!

Remy can't access the BXC properly any more, and has asked that the following be posted for him;
hello

I hope this is ok to post here. I posted in the BX club (un 16valve ones) about a BX estate I had for sale with head gasket gone for 300 pounds, under user name, medway citroen.

For some reason my server wont let me access the BX club, I used a proxy server for a while but now this wont work, i can read but not post.

could some one if they dont mind post on the thread for the car that as we were quiet we have now fixed the car and it seems to be running fine with no problems and is for sale now for 600 pounds.

Thanks and I hope ok once more is ok to ask this, but I dont know how else to update the thread.

Remy (medway citroen)
He can probably be reached if you send an email through the board, or on the BX 16Valve site

Pictures and a description of how/what was done to repair the car. Did the head come off etc. or was a bottle of K-Seal or Steel Seal (better) used?

I assume from the price hike it involved fitting a new gasket?
