Hurricane mot

Post by Gary »

Another years ticket on the old mans GTI Hurricane, with only one advisory blue smoke on acceleration, poss due to worn valve steam oil seals.
Total out lay this year about £40 for front pads, drive shaft gaiter and exhaust manifold gaskets and nuts, i was amazed the exhaust manifold came off without snapping any studs.
But looking at the manifold it will poss need replacing as it is corroded away on the outer surfaces on cylinders 1&4.
But overall well pleased.

Thanks guy's it has the making of a good car just as long as the local yobs don't do any more damage to it .
They have already keyed it down one side and damaged the mirrors, the mirrors have been replaced with some purchased at the ccc show so cheap repair, but the n/s will need a respray and rear 1/4 dent repair caused by a 4x4 in last years snow, hit and run so there was no chance of getting them to pay for it. But with some tlc it could be made nice.
