Dunno, but I would have thought so. I've just noticed something similar on mine - not gunge, but where I've just bled the system and there was a bit of diesel around one injector, it's bubbling ever so slightly. When I get a minute I was going to whip them all out (often easier said than done), get them checked/calibrated and fit new seals.
From experience, get yourself some new leak-off hoses before you start messing about – they harden off to the point they're impossible to remove without cutting them.

Nasty black gunk around the injector..
Will I need to change both seals on this injector or anything else?
Thanks
Are you positive it isn't the rocker cover leaking oil behind the injector?

hi - no haven't checked the gasket but this doesn't immediately look like engine oil... I'll take a closer look tomorrow...
I'm sure I saw a very similar thing on another forum recently.. autoshite or somewhere...
looks like talcum powder is often used to find the exact leak location??
