Richard,
Same as my GT, just crank it over from cold for 10 seconds or so with no gas and it starts first time.

I have a sticker on my BX which recommends exactly this - if starting from warm depress pedal fully till it starts too!

It is an official BX Citroen sticker from new!

not that simple im affraid the starter motor is not turning at all not even a click, the transport company said she starts with a tow so it will be a loose connection somewhere. i put the battery on charge last night so will have another bash later on,i had to charge it because some nosey bleeder was poking around it on monday and had left the doors open so the interior lights were on :x Thank goodness for my four legged security guards!

To be honest, BX's seem quite good at the 'completely dead starter' trick. I think I'm going to have to admit defeat and change the starter on mine as it still randomly does it. Hopefully it'll behave while it's away for welding...

Try fitting a manual choke...

My Gt (now sorted) starts first kick every time cold ...full choke (no throttle) and almost immediately push the choke back in...

Hot/warm no probs ....minor throttle ..and she will fire first kick...it is everything that I always expected from a Weber equipped car...
