Good result. I hope Ken feels a little better in knowing it won't be cubed - which is something I know in my heart of hearts he wouldn't have relished getting done. And I hope, Paul, it flourishes after this stay of execution! :D

Well done Paul, that's the result we we're expecting, this car was obviuosly far too good for cubing which is one major downfall of low BX values.

good save paul and a good outcome all round
The front bumper and the splitter is indeed spoken for, but I'm not really a 'tow-bar kinda guy' so it will be coming off at some point. It looks to be in very good nick and is a proper Citroen one that has all the wires and pluggy inny type stuff you need to get an MOT these days - so I'm told anyway ( I tend to think if you've seen one tow-bar you've seen 'em all!)

Anyway, let me know if you're interested and perhaps we can work something out?

A very enjoyable day. Good food, good company and good cars! The TGD is a very different animal to my Hurricane, but once you adjust to it's more 'sedate' attitude to getting from A to B it's a very satisfying drive. I was a bit worried by the lack of PAS but it's not that noticable once you're 'airborne' as it were - will need to work on my upper body strength for parking etc!

Ken (very kindly) did the cambelt, cam seals (there was a small leak) and the pump belt and (I think) is making enquiries with his mate Simon re; the welding. I'll do some general servicing myself (change oil/filters and LHM) fit some mudflaps (found a new set in the shed) attend to any cosmetic glitches, apply some of 'Chidlows finest' stickers (good job I bought two sets) then valet it to within an inch of its life (not necessarily in that order)

All in all very pleased with the purchase (it would have been a tragedy to have to cube it - although sometimes needs must). It means my trusty Hurricane can have a well deserved rest.

The pics were taken outside 'chez Newbold'. That's Tims TZD and Kens TX(?)D auto; all fine examples of the Gallic car makers art. In the backgound is Ken's Fiat Ulysse - apparently the Italians are having a pop at building cars these days - whatever next!? :D Many thanks to Tim for the lift upto Wakefield and Ken for sorting 'stuff'. Much appreciated - cheers! =D>

An enjoyable day indeed, I left the Golf at home last night and went to the pictures in the TZD, and called in for fuel on the way home, to be greated by a youngish fella saying "is that a Citroen BX???" , and of course yes etc, "does the suspension work?" . I corrected him of course and told him I have 5 of them, he said "wow" havent seen one in years....

Anyway today im at work and the Golf is still at home, the TZI is in the carpark, complete with fresh oil and filter  and the TZD is at home, complete with speed lines. 8)

Thanks Vince. There'll be a few more pics I'm sure of that! I started the (I think Tims phrase is) 'minting up' process today. Fitted mudflaps, gave it a bit of a clean and made a list of everything that needs doing to get it nice and tidy and reliable. Then took the Hurricane for a spin this evening; I don't want her feeling all neglected now there's a 'new kid on the block'! :D
