Tim, wouldent Richard would have to pass your place to get to west sussex to pick up the ebay alloys ?
If you want £70 for yours and £35 for the ebay ones that works out at £105 +petrol for a set of wheels, thats not bad in my book

Me? I don't think I expressed an interest in these particular wheels; mindreading must be one of your other skills Phil - they are rather nice!Philip Chidlow wrote:That's in Phil Boxall's neck of the woods. I will be going down there soon, too, if anyone needs to snap these up - I also know Paul was keen... maybe for the new acquisition??? Just need to find a fourth.
If I were Richard I'd just buy them at that price - they're pretty rare at any price - and hope another comes along at some point. I seem to remember seeing one lying around at Barry Annells place in Bourne - might be worth giving him a ring?

so £85 for tims and £35 for the other 3 a total of £120 for a rare set of alloys, not bad in my book .
Surely for Richard to get to West Sussex to pick up the three ebay ones he would have to pass quite near your place Tim.
Keighly to the M1.
down to Burton upon Trent (106 miles),coffee break at Tims
M1 to M25
then M23,A23 and A27 to west sussex
about 300 miles each way only 5 1/2 hours

If it was me, I'd be considering refurb and re-tyring costs. Pair of part worn good brand tyres and one equivalent to Tim's new tyre will cost £25-28 fitted (not to mention putting rubber on the spare). Refurb £40 a wheel, probably. So the whole lot will work out about £280-300. Still not too bad for four sparkling and rare alloys with 'new' tyres.
The 'expensive' graphite Speedlines mentioned elsewhere at £150 would require four replacement tyres so that's another £100 or so on the top of that, which - soberingly - makes them possibly nearly £50 cheaper. Ahh, but what price exclusivity?

Ok well, if you end up buying them let me know, although I have had a cheeky bid myself, which I hope nobody minds.
I bought my wheel to use as a spare for the GT even though it wasnt a perfect match, so its been sat under the rear of that for 2 years but never been on the road, but I have since bought another one which is the correct earlier design, but I have yet to collect that from Mr Chidlow.
Im not sure if it has a centre cap, I doubt it.
I have a spare steel for alloy wheels I can use for now.
I wouldnt mind them myself as collecting them for me is free plus I have plenty of good 165/70 tyres....

Don't apologise!Philip Chidlow wrote:Sorry
For an 'as new' set of those particular alloys I think that's a fair price. I'm just 300 quid light
