what would be your ideal BX

Post by Mickey taker »

for me it would be this with monza or black leather trim and of course a front splitter

1.9 petrol of course ( none of that dirty diesel stuff for me)
aircon and auto would be the ultimate

This one....

I just wish it had a little bit more go (1.9CT perhaps) and a 5 speed auto as the gearings too short, Oh and grey half leather and A/C that works.
Lots of Motors, mostly semi broken....

BX Sport or Digit maybe. But I quite fancy a Buffalo - if there is one (Remy's got one I think?).

I have 3!

1. White leader (with the grey vinyl sticker on the door bottoms)/St. Tropez/Preview BX14.
But I'd have to modify the gears to give it longer legs and fit an AX twin choke carb and inlet manifold, maybe cam too.
(my plan for the summer, got my eye on Jude's Preview [-o< hope it's still around in May/June)

2. Mk1 BX16 Pilot auto in red

3. Mk2 BX19 carb (so TRS or something) in ivory/cream, with 'TG' style wheel trims.

If we're really on about ideal, I s'pose the idea of a V6 BX is mightily appealing. On LPG of course.

Oh and what about a BX using the Peugeot 405 Mi16 4x4 drivetrain? Not inconceivable, and PSA could have done it... Wonder if anyone's done the conversion?

I'd want mine in white with black and red interior (like a TX trim), but using the 16v front seat design. Oh, and no sunroof.

I'm happy with my St Tropez, but I sometimes wish the little PAS fairy would sprinkle some magic dust on the steering rack and make it a little less of a work-out when doing 3-point turns. Air-con might be nice as well, but then again, if I want ventilation, there is always the window. Manual, of course...

I could rabbit on about a 1.8 V6 engine and razor sharp handling, but if I want that, I just swap cars for a day.
