oil level dipstick

whilst looking at my cars "4 times a year" starting problem, I discovered that the dipstick has a brocken lid. does anyone have a spare one ?

Brand new dipsticks from GSF at £4+VAT.

Bought mine in March this year.
(Cheaper than the postage from an ebay seller

now finally 3.5 years later I will order one from GFS....
same price £4 and on ebay they all cost at least twice the amount.
My Bx's dipstick has finally broken off from its plastic cap.

They're different - shorter IIRC. And a yellow handle!

Part # 1172 79 for 1,6 and 1,9 petrol engines,
# 1172 99 for GTI 16S (length 491 mm)

Did you have to look up the part nos. and length, or did you just know it?

I must admit that (for obvious reasons) my true knowledge regarding the petrol engine parts is rather thin.

Try ebay. Would imagine most PSA cars of the same era use a similar one.

I got one of these for the valver last year. Would appear to fit it ok. No ill affects so far.
