Mulley cleaned his car! Must be a leap year!

Post by Paul296 »

It's a little known fact that statistically Frenchmen use less soap than any of their European counterparts. Until recently it seemed, Matt's BX TXD shared something of that same Gallic propensity for soap dodging. Not anymore! Having been shown the business end of a bottle of wax n' wash, a bucket of suds and a sponge; why, you are a swan! :D Actually, I think it was just to bring it into line with the lovely doorshuts - now sans rust. Looking good anyway.

While I was arsing about with an aerosol can, Matt very kindly did my front discs and pads. Seeing the shiny discs and new pads I toyed with the idea of cleaning everything and making the whole wheel arch look like new. Matt suggested this would be, 'a total waste of time'. I agreed (sort of) :D

You left polish on the wheel trims!? Such sloppy work! :D

I didn't go near a sponge - I was too busy finishing the shuts and repainting the sills - oh and I cleaned up and primed the bottom of the doors - the rusty bits were buggering up the new paint on the shuts.

Sigh, such a lovely pair you have Tim!

TXD looks smashing! I think a clean white BX in TZ/TX etc trim looks the best combo you can get (except a Delage red or silver TGE that is)

  Cheers guy's, yes she does scrub up well when i make the effort  But i knew Paul was coming round to do some paintwork, so i gave him the best template that i could, & i had the time to wash the car, so i did 8)

Someone from work commented on my car, they thought it was originally Beige & didn't realise it was white

Didn't realise i'd been caught in shot, i would have posed

Both cars are coming on well thanks to our joint efforts. Handy that we both have different skills which we can share without any cash needing to change hands, makes a refreshing change, & Paul is such an enthusiast that i'd feel guilty if i didn't let him get at the rust on my txd

Why do the pics always make my car look like its almost new, its far from it, but is a decent 5 footer i'd say  A few more touch ups & the bumpers to smarten & then some major t-cutting to get rid of the flat paint, & she'll be looking very smart.
