I believe the change from RE, RD, DTR etc to TG's, TX's TZ's etc was 1990 - My 19RD was an 89, while the 14TGE was a 90 (but was an RE on the logbook)

Trim changes aren't as straight forward as the model name changes, as except for a split rear seat, the TGE's interior was identical to that in the earlier RD

Edit due to fat fingers

As with all cars over the years they improve and change trim, it was very late 89 when they went from R to TG etc, but a year later there was more changes to upholstery again.

Yeah! Get this, any wrong bits let me know and i'll change it.

EDIT - now with OTR figures (courtesy of howmanyleft.com).

Orange text denotes auto transmission available, and in the OTR figures it is (manual)*(automatic).

Correct 1990 and if my memory serves me correctly (as I was working in the parts department of a ^^ ^^ dealership at the time) it was June 1990.

Now talking of trim levels I find the trim level of the TZD not to be as good as on my TZS but then again the trim that is in my TZS came from another TZS scrapper that had a metal bonnet like the TXD has. The interior of the TZS replaced the identical interior of my TRS which was replaced because of the previous owners smoking habit.

Did you understand that

We also had the TRi and TRi 122 over here in Australia.
Both 1.9 EFI Petrols, the TRi had the DFZ engine, TRi 122 had the DKZ engine like the TZi, I think both had BE1 gearboxes.
