/em is wondering how many more stickers she can fit on her back screen

I'll cough up for one or two at X rally if there are spares :)

Also, I'm looking to sell my Xsara, anyone wannit?

I drove it to work yesterday so it wouldn't feel lonely. I hated every minute but am feeling vaguely guilty for not loving it more.

Pathetic excuse time: my last BX - early MkII 19RD sadly had to be scrapped and I bought a Ford Escort. Which I could just about stand 'cos it was a 16v. Xsara following on from that seemed OK, I was happy to be back in a Citroen diesel again.

Then I got my TZD exactly 4 weeks today and it's like, "Xsara, what was I thinking?" (obv. nothing at all at that point in time)

The stickers will be like this:

Image

Because I'm only making 30 (appropriate) I have had to revise the price: they'll be £3.99 each (including postage if required) PLEASE NOTE: I will bring them to the X Rally so you can pay cash there. Or if you prefer PayPal in advance, please.

Let me have the order quantity, your address and PayPal payment if you need me to post.

I have taken note of everyone who expressed an interest and they will get preference over new 'orders'. As it is I have names against 28 stickers. If someone drops out or reduces their requirement, I'll let others know, obviously.

Thanks :)

I need to buy a new pressure cap 'cos the seal on mine is definitely knackered as I discovered the other day. Suspect thermostat may also be gorn (no overheating, no power loss, water loss a bit random/minimal, no water in oil, so it had better [expletive deleted] not be the [expletive deleted] head gasket as it was only -expensively - done in 2007). Also had advisories on brake flexi-hoses and injector washers at last MOT (Jun 11). May need a couple new tyres as well.

So it's a bit marginal ... I really don't wanna spend any more money on it, but it's too good to scrap*, fairly low mileage, few minor cosmetics but otherwise reasonably tidy for 11 year old car and everything else is OK, I've kept it regularly serviced. Soul searching ... I just want easy life/fast sale pref for over scrap value (£500 would do nicely), work is just insane atm and I haven't got time to [expletive deleted] about on e-bay.

*assuming it's not head gasket in which case [expletive deleted] it, it's going over the bridge.

/rant ... ah, that's better :D

The air con, BTW, does work. Mostly.

That's not very encouraging! I paid £1875 for mine from a dealer a year ago, with a couple of minor bumps and scrapes but everything working.

Since then every passing idiot has bumped into it, the windscreen washers have failed, the aircon works occasionally, and the rear brake pads have worn to an advisory level (although I'll replace those). I've spent a ton of money on it in the meantime, too - cambelt, a major service, an engine mount and an exhaust, as well as an interesting electrical failure which had the interior blower fan running at full speed all the time.

In short, it's been less reliable than my old £200 BX :(

I'd love it if someone gave me a grand for it - and with just 70,000 miles and a decent service history I think that's fair - but I'm getting less and less hopeful.

Sticker ideas:

(quoteing Stuart Hedges)

"The Citroen Xsara; What doesn't work on yours?"

and

"The BX16V; for people who want to get somewhere noisily."
la BX 16 soupapes: sachez apprecier avec moderation.

It might be clever now, but it won't be in the morning!
