Bx or Big X?

Big X was the code name for the coordinator of the POW escapes from WW2 prison camps wasnt it?

That guy definately looks as though he's escaped..

My Mongolian is a bit rusty. I've listened to it ten times and I still can't work out... who is BX? I'm gonna sing this to my rusty heaps when I open the garage door tomorrow morning.

My Mongolian is excellent, having spent much of my early life as a weapons dealer, drugs baron and Yak sexer in a sleepy suburb of Ulan Bator. You miss alot of the subtleties in a literal translation but here's the gist of the chorus . . .

'The Citroën BX is a large family car that was produced by the French manufacturer Citroën from 1982 to 1994. In total, 2,315,739 BXs were built during its 12-year history. The hatchback was discontinued in 1993 with the arrival of the Xantia, but the estate continued for another year.'

Thanks for the translation! It's got a deeper meaning than I expected. Maybe we see if he wants to sign up for the club? Our man in Mongolia..

What has Todd ever done to you?

Actually, according to Google translator it's the Russian for "duu Han kliptey bolzhee". I have NFI either.

Well, my extensive knowledge of russian (CSE grade 3 in 1982) and an old dictionary are sadly not enough to enlighten you any further....
I think Caffiend's translation is the bet we can hope for... :D

I'm not so sure. You can translate '???' as hamster, but its also a generic word for any small rodent. While '??????' (elderberries) is remarkably similar to, '??????' (laptopamabob). I think it's a misprint and infact it's something to do with flogging car insurance? Simples.

OK, I could just say that you're making it up, but that's no fun. [1].

My extensive research [2] indicates that you either:

a) pulled up a russian alphabet application-y-type-thing-y (apologies for getting technical there) and typed in a bunch of random characters that looked pretty then copied and pasted them

OR

b) are a secret agent [3] for the Capitalist Consumer Club (for the Oppression of Innocent Meerkats), whose sole aim is to make immoral amounts of filthy lucre by dressing up meerkats in stupid clothes and putting them in irritating adverts. As a paid-up member and 4th spear carrier from the right (elect) of the Meerkat Liberation Front [4] I say no! Meerkats should be naked and proud [5]:

Image

So, which is it? [6]

[1] And I totally am not. Will not be. Whatever.
[2] Right click somewhere in posts, View Page Source or similar depending on browser, 'Find' on username or a word in a post - preferably not 'and' or 'the' - unless you want to go cross-eyed:
Don't mention it. &# 1096;&# 1080;&# 1085;&# 1101; &# 1076;&# 1091;&# 1091; &# 1085;&# 1100; &# 1082;&# 1083;?&# 1087;&# 1090;&# 1101;&# 1081; &# 1073;&# 1086;?&# 1078;&# 1101;&# 1101; !!
(NB spaces added as HTML disabled on this forum.) There is a incredible and almost irresistably rich mine of maths and high flown conspiracy theory here ... [9][10]
[3] A mole of course. Well, duh.
[4] Not affiliated in any way, shape or form with the Meerkat Freedom Alliance.
[5] Crap, there's way too many cute pictures of meerkats on Google images. Oh, just pick one ...
[6] Longer ago than I care to remember, I used to work with a very wise aged gentleman who used to lean on my desk - one of those high Reception desk things - and share his philosophy: (imagine Steptoe senior speaking in rich Zummerzet here): "Oi faaaancies a raow wiv someone". I often think of him when I've had an "interesting" day. That'll be the full half hour please.
[7] It's the sunshine brings 'em out. No, this footnote isn't referenced anywhere in the main text.
[8] There is no 8. I just like footnotes.
[9] Or total bollocks. Not sure I can tell the difference
[10] I can do this for hours. [11]. Even when I'm sober.
[11] But I won't. [12]
[12] What was this thread about again?

Whatever gave you that idea? Image

There are very few things more irritating than having an urgent piece of work to do that depends on someone who didn't join the queue for awareness of deadlines and got a double dose of apathy instead. One of those things would be not having the authority to smack them about (metaphorically speaking) and having to whine to my boss instead of dealing with them myself which I would rather do ... /rant

I'm an efficiency junkie at work because I know what I'm naturally like in every other arena ...

Having had a cuppa tea and a fag, I think what really annoys me is the apathy bit. If you're going to procrastinate, you should know exactly what it is you're putting off, bloody well enjoy it and have a better excuse than none for not doing whatever-it-is. "I don't feel like it/don't want to" counts :D.
