Yes it's sold, sorry to any of you who were looking to bid.
I took my Valver down to have some new tyres fitted yestterday and the guys were all over it, lots of interest and nice comments, how they hadn't seen a BX for years ect, I mentioned that I had my other BX for sale on flEbay and left it a that. less then a hour later got a call from one of the fitters saying he had looked it up on Ebay and wanted it, so we agreed a price (very pleased) and it was gone by 7pm last night.

The allure of the BX

Don't get too downhearted Jane letsbefriends - with very limited practical skills and no off-street parking I had to wait a few months for the right BX for me. Seems like a few are changing hands at the moment, stick around and I'm sure that one day your pxrxixnxcxex BX will come.

Know that the 'dream' is a nice Meteor, but how about this one? OK, so it's more up front, but will probably need less doing to it than one with higher mileage, I spent the same amount on mine as I bought it for within about a month!

Yes, I have considered that one and also the silver blue automatic one which is on here. The Meteor is my dream car, but I know that I have to be realistic. Maybe my Prince won't come and I will have to be content with a Knight in shining armour!
I haven't actually had a BX for several years now as I have been driving my Xantia (which was given to me) into the ground due to lack of funds. The MOT is due in September and I am keen to get a new car before that, preferably a BX. I would rather spend some money on a BX than getting the Xantia through another MOT. The final straw with the Xantia came last week when the drivers door lock decided not to work and I now have to go round to the passenger side in all weathers to open and lock it.
I just wish I was more mechanically aware and could get to view these cars more easily.

I'm not giving up hope though.

good call Sandre ,its the right colour , just needs a pramhandle spoiler, the right wheeltrims (which I have )and it would almost be a meteor Jane, just lacks the power steering
1991 BX Meteor 1.6

It's a good plan, a Prince would probably insist on driving (git), whereas the knight can bugger orf on his horse (presumably white) and leave you to enjoy the car ;P

I really wanted a Hurricane in Triton green (but Paul wasn't selling :non-existent sulk smiley:) so settled for a TZD in the same colour instead - at the end of the day it's the same under the bonnet, so I'm happy :)

Loadsa time if you can keep the Xantia on the road until September - hope you find something soon. Keep an eye on Gumtree as well as ebay!

I am hoping to get the Xantia sold for a pittance (a tank of fuels worth maybe) and would like to be able to do so with as much MOT as possible. Also I am off work following surgery so have a bit of time to look around right now so hope to get sorted soon. Yes, have looked on Gumtree, Preloved, Car and Classic and of course the dreaded eBay! I will find one eventually, and it will be lovely.

That's the attitude! I would be useless, i've no patience, so it always has to be instant gratification for me.

What about Tim's TZD? I think that's still up for grabs when he gets back from France; a fully 'Timified' TZD for (I think?) 750ish has got to be worth a look?

But it will be a well sorted car, so i wouldn't get hung up on colour. I can't stand green personally, however, if a decent car came up & i was in the market for one, i'd buy a green one if that was the one if you know what i mean. These cars are getting scarce & any form of recent history is a bonus in my opinion, Tim's spent a lot on this car, so you won't have to.

Yes but it's RED!! I don't do red. (not that I'm fussy or anything!)
Yeah there is that - I'm not a fan of red - so you do have my sympathy.

What's wrong with green Matthew? Where I come from that's fightin' talk! :D

I know that the colour of the car shouldn't be important but my current one is dark blue, which I don't like and the last one was dark red, which I also didn't like, I'd just like to have one that I like the colour of for a change.
And as for green. . . . My mum is REALLY superstitious and reckons that green cars are sent by the devil and are all death traps, so I darent even consider a green one!

  I'd have your Hurricane Paul, just not a standard car as the don't look as good in that colour. But if a decent motor came up for sale, even i'd buy the car, regardless of colour, thank god their aren't any pink one's about, except for the faded red one's of course
