Of course I do Philip, I`ve only got about four now and temporary custody of another two!
I`m a bit confused by the seller`s description though: he says (I think) rear arm bearings have been done but o/s/r suspension needs attention and also the bit about it leaking oil everywhere.
I`m thinking it might be LHM as opposed to oil, though unsure as to what the suspension problem is.
Hopefully he`ll be back to me to clear this matter up as I really fancy this car.

Cavmad: Would you like me to go and have a look at this car for you and cast a BX experienced eye over it? I live in Malvern so it cant be more than 3 miles away as Malvern is very small! I have a suspition its one of the two local specialist selling it as he is based very near the "Three Counties Showground" on the way towards the center of Malvern.

Thats OK Cavmad it would make sense for me to see it first as I live nearby. Shall I try and get the exact location details off the guy or do you have a postcode or something I can type into Multimap? I know roughly where it will be but obviously I need an exact address. Thinking about it, it cant be the Citroen specialist I know as he would know exactly how to fix it, ensuring that he got about twice as much for it! Ill try and have a look underneath if there is any way of doing it-if its not got rear mudflaps then it might be safe to reverse it up some axel stands? Then again, if one strut is all linked up OK, it should rise up reasonably level due to the anti-roll bar. I think I can invisage what may have happened- exactly what stewart says- The strut end to arm fixing does look fairly hap-hazzard as it is so it will most probably be this that slipped out of place. Im free on Saturday anytime before 11.30, or between 4.30 and 6.00, and Sunday anytime after 4.30 BTW so can go over to see it then. I can ask him about how to get there over ebay, but it might make more sense if you do as your the bidder etc. Ill be back online tomorrow night sometime so if you just let me know what you want to do then ill go ahead with it. From the general description the guys given of his location, hes got to be within a mile of a BX specialist I know (Bill Griffiths), so if the worse came to the worse and you needed a part off a scrapper, he'll have that part! Hope the auction goes well for now. Adam
edit: I have just read the advert again- Stewarts dead right. The guys description sounds exactly like what will have happened; he seems to know a fair bit about BX's by the sounds of it. I beleive he may be right about the rear strut over extending but I have no idea whether they can just pop apart when not under resistance?? Should jsut be a case of fitting the pin/rod part, driving the strut back together, and topping up of LHM if its lost too much.

Never mind, I`m still interested and hopefully it won`t go too mad as there`s no MOT and it needs repairs. Heck, I`d even fire up the recovery truck to go and collect it too. It needs a good run out and as the exhaust fell off earlier this week going to work I need to test out the repair my local garage made to it.
I half fancy getting the engine taken out and put into my estate if the bloody thing ever gets through an MOT that is!

As for it's problem, I suspect the cup on the end of the suspension push rod which locates in the radius arm, has shattered. The push rod then shoots out and jams up against the arm somewhere, the rear boot/gaiter will be ripped and most of it's fluid lost.
The car will not rise at the back due to the loss of pressure by the missing pushrod but if you took a jack, pushrod assembly and some fluid it could probably be got home.
I 've seen these shatter before.

Thanks Ken! If the seller wants it repaired then maybe that`s the option. I think for recovery purposes I could winch it onto the truck without too much trouble, maybe just extend the ramps or put blocks under them to get it on safely. The winch is a belter by the way, pulled my Volvo 940 turbo up without any problems and is in regular use pulling up all kinds of crap cars.
