That's great. I saw this too in 2007. How come the mileage is still so low?

Once you've got those foglights fitted then you'll get sucked into the accessory vortex : door handle protectors, middle box etc.. though you'd have to have the tenacity of Indiana Jones to find a set of Citroen luggage!

Both my early BXs have foglights fitted that I've never wired up..

Thanks for the photo of the accessories, Todd. I hadn't realised that the Mk1 foglights hang down in front of the bumper, I assumed that they would fit flush into the bumper in housings like the MK2, especially as my bumper has places in the grill which look as though they should be cut out for housings to fit. Very strange! I have limited the accessories to a power socket in the rear of the centre console and hinge-down covers for the storage spaces in the boot (tow bar and rear screen blind were fitted by the dealer). Over time, the exhaust system needed replacing so a s/s one went on to save any more fiddling around. The low mileage is simply because I was driving other vehicles except when I needed to tow anything or when there were 5 of us to transport as a Scimitar and a Volvo 480 only have 4 seats.

Ian, when you get a minute could you post some pictures of the boot cavity covers, I want to make some for my car but want them to look as close to the real thing as possible, Ta

I fitted some foglights to my Mk.1 that I found attached to a scrapper GT. I removed those two plastic blanks from the bumper with a Stanley knife but the foglights hang off special brackets that mount onto dedicated holes in the member behind the bumper, so yes, they sit quite far out from the actually recesses though I'm sure, depending on what you've got available, you could mount them deeper.

I'm sure they'll be better quality than the original items which are tres crap, especially the fixing 'system.' Plastic and more plastic, elderly now and brittle.

Here are some photos of the boot hatch covers. I have to agree, they are not great quality items but they have lasted a long time ('cos they are hardly ever used!) and they are useful to stop odds & ends from jumping out and rolling around in the boot.

Ah so that's what they look like!

I'm thinking some pieces of appropriately cut thin ply, vent slots cut and upholstered in a suitable
fabric would do the trick?

All the gubbins I keep in my cubbies is forever falling out, very annoying.

I was thinking of making some up to use as a mounting for some speakers, rather than butchering my parcel shelf.

great minds think alike they say ,

I have put my 6x9's in the parcel shelf for now but have a spare uncut shelf ,
when I had the 340 volvo a friend of mine who was a cabinet maker made me a set for it , I think I might see if I still have his number.

Thanks Ian
