2CVGB Registers' Day, St Ives, Cambs THIS WEEKEND

Post by Dollywobbler »

Oops. I rather forgot to mention this! It's 2CVGB Registers' Weekend - and what a glorious one it appears to be! If you like rain...

Saturday is the main 'show and shine' day, but it's not a serious polish fetishists event. There will be 2CVs and derivatives in all shapes and conditions. The reason I mention it is that the Citroen Car Club members are always welcome and get the same gate discount as members of 2CVGB.

A camping ticket is £20 for club members, £25 otherwise. A day ticket for the main event (Saturday) is £5/£10. There is a bar serving real ales (and lager etc) and entertainment on the Saturday night too. Under 18 year olds enter free of charge.

The event is held at Burleigh Hill Farm, St Ives, CAMBS PE27 3LY.

We'll be setting off shortly. There were three BXs on display last year but mine are staying at home. It's my only 2CV event of the year so I must take the 2CV!

Doesn't look great weather wise, but I suspect better than Wales - I think the weather is moving over from that direction so hopefully the water levels will have gone down by the time you get over...

Yeah, the only problem is that we need to drive through that band of torrential rain! Rivers are already looking high here, with worse to come apparently...

Just talked to my mate John who got there in his H van this morning - lots of rain and he's wondering if I made a better choice deciding to go to Beaulieu

It was rather damp! Survived though. George was there in his ex-Leech TZD with other BXs belonging to Dave Shove (van) and some chap who's name I didn't get in a TZD estate. Pics could possibly follow but I've got loads on and haven't had a chance to look at them yet!
