Its nice, but I really don't think its remarkale that it still has one of it's valve covers. It should have all four! Especially at that price. The seat also looks a it crumpled.
, Also now on E-BAY with already one offer, (but has been declined) !
Also note ! that there's three missing valve covers from the O/S wheel trims which can be seen from the better photo's in the E-Bay link above (but never-the less was stated in Patrick's adverts).

Yes true Tim. Mind you, 5 years ago I would have gone and done just that, in fact, I did. An immaculate St Tropez from a dealer for £350, and it even had all 4 valve covers Coming to think of it it was more like 8 years ago. It was my first BX and I had come from Dyane's. I sold it to Vanny's mate, but don' think it lived on very long. I had gone wide on a sharp wet bend and bent the subframe by hitting a rock with the left wheel
I think Patrick will get pretty near the asking price without too much trouble (on offer of 1200-1300 would be reasonable). The key of course is low mileage. Personally, I think it's an over rated virtue but most purchasers of a car such as this don't.
Take that Green TZD that sold on ebay recently, it needed a fair bit of work to get it mechanically and cosmetically tidy, yet it went for 900 quid. Why? Low mileage.

- as long as there is reasonable evidence of it having been looked after maintenance-wise I'd rather have a BX that had done enough miles to have had all those things done, than one where everything was about to break through normal wear and tear!

Exactly. Show me a car with a bulging history file and a previous owner with OCD and I'll get my money out!
Well, the XM has a service history totalling 13 grand, so I'll sell it to the first person to offer me 30 grand.

It was worth a try ...
Mark - . Suddenly I'm not thinking "maybe an XM when (if) I grow up"
Anyhow, back to the Tropez, I'm sure that this was advertised late last year sometime and didn't sell then? Be interesting to see whether it does this time

The operative bit there of course is; 'for the moment'.
I think this is the first time this car has been offered for sale since it was purchased at a year old by its 'octogenarian owner now hanging up he driving gloves'.
Um, that would be the St Tropez, not my TZD. And yeah, the TZD will get there
Franklin, if you see this, it's the line that Paul quoted that looked familiar, did you guys try to sell it late last year or have I just stepped even further from the realms of reality? - thanks
