Spent the day sorting out the brakes & suspension..

...and investigating what's left of the chassis!

It's certainly fixable though!

Ace. I don't think it was a bargain, but certainly don't think it was a bad deal. Good luck with getting it sorted. If you've got access to a cheap welder (or have the skills yourself) shouldn't be too much of a battle hopefully. Whereabouts are you?

It looked ok at first, but this was after attacking it with a big screwdriver! If I can poke holes through then it obviously needs replacing
Rather do it properly than just 'cover it up'
The engine seems sound, light misting on the oil cap but nothing much to worry about

I obviously can't tell how bad the sills are from your photos, as to if your going to 'Cut out the bad plate-work' sections and then fabricate a 'patch' to suit and weld up as necessary ?
Or if your of the opinion a complete sill maybe better so as to cut out all of the 'tin worm' in one go and a full sill replacement is the way forward ?
If you need some sills there these on E-bay NEAR-SIDE and OFF-SIDE if you need them I shouldn't hang about too long as those are £57.97 the others they have listed on E-Bay are £89.81 !
Also heres their current MK1 PARTS and MK2 PARTS , advertised on their home/website (Rather than the E-Bay shop) which show the sills even more @ £95.66 per side (Albeit the same part no's)
I hope the /\ maybe of help to you !
