So, Saturday got off to a really good start when, whilst driving along the 973 mile stretch of M1 with 50 mph average speedcheck roadworks, I realised (whilst comforting myself with how much economising I was doing on diesel) that I had forgotten my toolbox. Having carefully packed *everything else* I needed and quite a lot I didn't. Oh well.
Things learned this weekend:
- I need to Have Words with Rob about his mechanics realising that a 12 stone woman being able to stand on a wheelbrace and not loosen the wheelnut concerned may mean that there's a bit more than 65 lb/ft torque being used ...
- Citroen just chucked all the parts in a turbo diesel engine bay and jumped up and down on the bonnet a bit to make it shut. It's quite crowded in there ...
- Ian is awesome (thanks

)
- I can probably do things up tight enough that they don't fall off again after having a go myself.
More pix:

The towbar now works

Rain stops play, but not Mike's apparently endless stream of hair-raising tales ...

oops, forgot to take 'before' pictures - this is 'during'. They were MUCH FILTHIER than this to start with and ended up cleaner

The amazing Ian and his kryptonite (Tesco's exploding strawberry cream tart)

How many BX clubbers does it take to change a foglight bulb?

Tim's idea of the car park from HELL (how I laughed. I'm a bitch like that)

Gorgeous view.

Gorgeous view.

The old people got a head start (3 months ago I would have never have got up that hill ~smug grin)
Thanks again to Rich for being a super host and Imogen for equally super catering - hope this will become a regular event.
