Mr.Great British Taxpayer has been taking it up the duff from the financial sector for the last decade without even batting an eye lid. He's not going to quibble about a few sheets of laminate is he?

Lil' bit of contentious politics there :D

She (I) wouldn't either, even as a taxpayer her(my)self, but think we may need more than a few by the time others have contributed half the contents of their libraries!

To the point: having investigated, laminates are actually not that expensive, and there are deals where you can buy 3-400 films and get a free laminator .... Hmmmm. I think I would like a look at one of those in the plastic/metal first, in case they're made of tinfoil, kleenex and clingfilm and will break the minute you actually try to laminate anything rather than sticking them on the mantelpiece to look pretty.

Have done me 11 quids for whatever it was that Ian was sorting, and v. happy to pay for laminates (or the whole package as above, tempting for future events) as my contribution, so probably won't put my hand up for any other costs (TZD MOT imminent). However, if anyone is ending up out of pocket from whatever bits they're sorting, let me know and I'll dig down the back of the sofa so I can cough up my share.

Banner art for everyone's information. Any serious opposition to it? Mark, Paul and Tim (The organising committee lol) have said 'Aye' :)

I think the " blur " is intended to show the athleticism and sheer maximum thrust of a MK1 DTR!! :)

There is a bit of me thinking we should have a RHD BX in shot. Not sure about the blur - looks good on screen but might just look like poor quality on a banner.

I can flip the layout, modifying the number plate accordingly so at least the steering wheel's on the uk side.
I can also remove the blur, but don't forget this is an image from a catalogue, so in order to lose the dots it will need some blurring.

*Edit* Tried that. Looked crap.

What we need is a redder BX and a better crop and MORE blurring, not less.

I like the second one better - I don't mind the blur. As Mark pointed out it's suggestive of the awesome power and majesty of the Mk.1 DTR 8)

OK, literature for the laminating: Paul has handed over (temporarily) -

French Mk 1 brochure - 'En Avant Les BX' (printed July 83)
English Mk 1 brochure - 'Loves driving, hates garages' (printed ? info declared accurate at Sept 83)*
Early Mk II brochure (printed 08/88)*
Price, colour & trim guide June 1990*
Press quotes for BX diesel (not dated, but has code K2699 on the back cover)

This'll be a fair wedge of stuff, I was thinking 2 copies of the * items, laminated - if anyone thinks that there is any other 'must have' literature, please get it scanned and PM me for an e-mail address to send it through to. I'll print, because laminates do sometimes wrinkle, and if I have to reprint one page then colour/quality would be different from any hard copy supplied, which would look naff!

I offered to produce similar laminated data sheets for the actual cars at the NEC. Could the other three owners send me their drafts as I need to get on with this: Ian has asked us to have them 'personalised' not just technical data....
For Caffiend re discussions at little Horwood: I have done my cataloging of my brochure collection.. can you PM your email address as I will scan the A4 sheet (its still in long hand) and send it 'off forum' as a jpg. As I have an estate I think my best input will be to scan and print the 1985 estate specific brochure for the introduction (K2048 01.08.85) and the one for the late estates (K4511 01.04.93).
