I suppose it might save someone getting stung by their local stealer?
BTW, isn`t that one of our lot`s red BX in the pictures on the listing?

"You will only need 4 tools - & they’re not expensive items, most DIY mechanics will already have them."

No chain wrenches etc, I'm getting curious !

hose clip, screwdriver, hammer and punch? I doubt it's anything more sophisticated than that.
this might be a signature

That sounds interesting David, presumably a very large Jubilee clip. I've had a quick search for a post on this but no joy. Do you have a link for this ?

ellevie - are you looking to borrow a sphere removing tool? - if so I'll lend you mine - I'm in Southampton.

Thanks for your kind offer Jeremy. It's ok, I'm not looking to change at the moment, I'm just fascinated by the various possibile ways of cracking them. Yes, we seem to have a few members around the area, but I rarely if ever see other BXs these days. I suppose it's the same everywhere now ! In fact, I can't remember the last time I saw another one !

Saw at least 3 driving round Southampton yesterday afternoon, one I see regularily - but 2 were not familiar. Having said that I think 3 have gone from my road in about the last 12 months - and yes generally they are dwindling now.

I wonder how many are still on the road - and what the demarcation line is from which BXs become "rare"?

A look around the club website would tell you.
