I'm not aware of any feuds, but one of the flats around here does seem to have become piss head hang out number one.
Argh.
It was frighteningly easy to bend the door back to shape so it would close, but it's actually broken the door where it's creased, so definitely
new door.
It's happening to other people round here, someone had a road works sign thrown on their roof last night,
several other windows put through.
Hopefully with the amount of reports, and the more times this set of people are implicated, it might get somewhere.
(It's mainly housing association round here, our's is private, so if they hear about their tenants pissing about they'll
kick them out eventually).
For now, there is a more contained parking area on the other side of my street which is watched over by the local pub landlord who
lives locally too.
I don't know how this would work if I claimed on my insurance. Does anyone reckon they'd write it off? Would that actually be beneficial if I could buy back at low cost or something?
Mick - Ah true true. I don't think it's worth bringing insurance in to it. If I can get a door with some glass it
should work out ok.
Tim - The thought crossed my mind, but these things happen everywhere potentially. I'm going to be parking in a
more over looked/contained bit of resident's parking which isn't a cut through for anyone. Where I park now is just asking for
it in a way.
Now then, don't these things come in threes? What was that crash?!!

I must congratulate you on your attitude & taking it so well, i'd be looking to get someone kneecapped which would be money well spent. Was it a break in or do you think it was just wanton damage? I presume that nothing is actually in your car or on view to make someone think its worth breaking into? What might work out cheaper longterm is to have one of those cctv systems set up to monitor your car & then you'll have all the evidence you'll need to pistol whip whichever txxt(s) is/are doing this. Paul296, i don't suppose you've got a red scrapper by any chance that you could bring over to mine & then it would be less distance for Marting to come & collect?

I am looking at every slightly dodgy person walking along the street with probably somewhat more suspicion than normal, but
the fact that loads of neighbours have come out to offer support, the police were actually pretty good, and the woman at the paper shop
called me "sir" this morning, it all adds up to think that humanity isn't that bad.
We're starting a resident's association which will be requesting a CCTV system, and making even more complaints about "the dodgy flat". It will be interesting to see if this association starts carrying flaming torches and pitchforks.
If anyone has a door even remotely close (to buy obviously!) I'll snap it up, especially if it has glass. With my new rally style window it probably won't be too unpleasant to travel around.
I wonder if the fact it's a bit unusual makes it stand out to the plonkers who did it? Any old car in a line of modern vehicles is going to catch the eye, so that could be a factor. I'd be tempted to sleep in the car for a while...with an axe.
