P2 16V standard exhaust / back box.

Post by frog »

I'm just wondering what the original for my car would have looked like.
Do I remember reading something about it being black? Was the tailpipe like so? Image

Cheers

I'm pretty sure it was black, slightly oval, and horizontal.

That's a Walker aftermarket one. I've got one on the 16v, though I've painted it black. It's a slimmer oval than the OE one.

I've got the OE one in the garage. Baffles have all gone from it but I'm keeping it for the future

You say that like it's a bad thing

My one pictured above is a ripe old 18 years old (got the invoice somewhere), has no baffles either and sounds great

I always try to get the most out of an exhaust too - this is what the back box on the GS looked like when I finally decided to change it:

/\ That definately is 'exhausted'

I've got just a bog standard down-pointing one on my 16v. I've never seen a different style here. I googled Citroen BX16v exhaust and this came up. Some people have got too much time on their hands

Jesus, that is exhaust twattery at its best, haha :)

Looks like the piccy of the black valver is sporting a diesel exhaust, they always turn downwards, i presume to reduce the smoke that pisses out of them when booting it :)

It's just a standard backbox. It's only the ph2 16v that uses anything different.
