Oops! Looks like I'll be shortly getting a BX

Post by macplaxton »

As some of you may know/remember, I've been offering guidance/help/assistance to an owner who has now - due to various circumstances coinciding - decided to give up on his BX. Formalities need to be completed, but it looks like I'm know the owner of this...

...which has a BX 19TXD auto hatchback encasing it.

And a dod of JB weld to hold the cam cap together. :D

Shouldn't be too much trouble doing a top-end swap when I get a chance. Was too good an offer to pass up.

Had exactly the same on a Xantia TD when the cambelt snapped. Should be a nice easy fix!

Vauxhall/ Opel Astra, and Cavalier/ Ascona from the early 1980's are also well known for doing this...

Luckily, they are VERY easy to work on!

Jesus should come to your house and make you finish fixing one before you take in another broken one.
You're like the Rolf Harris Pet Rescue version of the car word.

The Mrs would agree with that.

I've just got to finish tinkering with the welder then I can get back to fixing the 'oles in the Pug. (Yep, still not finished and looking much the same as the last pic). It's a bit inconvient that the clocks go back tonight. I need some floodlights...
