Classic car insurance

Post by Braidy »

Anyone know the insurance people to go to if you're a member of the Citroen Car Club? and own a venerable BX? I've only just joined so don't have a magazine yet to get that information.

Hi bud,

Footman James and Adrian Flux to name but a few. Both do classic car policies and the motor needs to be 20 years old or more. Most BXs fall into this category but some still dont.

Pretty much any classic insurance company. There are many! As Mothman says, not all will happily cover BXs as some have a 20 year old limit. Phone them up though. All the classic insurance websites tend to give rubbish quotes.

Impressive!

Were there any criteria you had to fulfil? Such as off street/garaged parking or limited miles?

yes Martin , it has to be a rare citroen BX
say for example a PETROL engine with a CARB none of your fancy diesel or injection rubbish
and having TGS and Meteor badges on the boot helps :D

Footman James do me very well - I pay £160 for unlimited mileage and comprehensive for four cars the - 16v, Jowett Javelin, Visa GTI, AX GTI and Visa 17RD But they won't insure the 4x4 on the same policy its lumped with the Corrado and is a lot more...

Blimey. Hadn't noticed the Javelin in your fleet. What a car.
