Hold on. An XM even has that posh rear screen, so your damp tent shouldn't make the whole car damp.

We've done camping in Scotland, in April. There was snow and one night was so cold that we could barely pack the tent! A two week event and we wussed out and stayed in a B&B four times I think.

Is there any chance of pulling the key details out of this thread? We appear to have got to 10 pages!

/\ Yes please, I am keen to get an idea of what's intended even though I can't make it this year.

Anyone? I'm pondering an early exit from this event as sadly it clashes with a 2CVGB event (one which is normally in July. Grrrr!)

Mark's being kind enough to organise but works shifts so just may not have seen this yet - give it a couple days :)

The key thing is that we will be mostly in Scotland from (possibly) Sat 22 to Sat 29/Sun 30: nothing to stop people doing the first 4-5 days then heading off to other events if necessary? - we won't be covering as much ground as in the Classic Challenge in France as Scotland is considerably smaller!

Ill try to dedicate some more time to the Ecosse challenge soon. I'm going through a redundancy process at the moment, so my thoughts have currently been elsewhere. :)
post script, if someone wants to take over the planning until I've got myself sorted with a new job, then that's fine with me.

I think I speak for everyone here in saying don't worry - you just keep positive and get yourself a new job. That's far more important!

Yup. I was just concerned that any relevant info had been lost somewhere in this monster thread, but perhaps there really aren't very many yet!

I'm meeting up with Sandre and possibly Tim and/or Paul in a couple of weeks, so we'll bang collective heads together and devise a definitive route plan. Phil, are you still ok to submit a C.C.C.E. design graphic? I was thinking of approx 100/150 miles a day, given that a lot of the routes will be on (hopefully) unclassified roads I feel this will be a sufficient daily distance.

The suggested route is back here on page 6 - alternative suggestions welcomed and I'd like to reiterate that this was never intended as an 'actual', more a guideline to destinations with A-roads listed for ease of following the route, final intention to use parallel/alternative Z-roads where possible and practicable.

150 miles a day should be pretty comfortable, even on Scottish roads. Our 2CV run back in 2008 was averaging 200 miles a day - that did require long days and a lot of thrashing! This sounds like it'll actually leave time for sight-seeing.

Stopping en route to admire stunning vista's is de rigeur!! I'd like it to be a challenge, but not too arduous. So long as everyone enjoys themselves, then I'll be a happy person. [-o<

Sounds good to me - I'm tying it in with York CTC Rally, so yet another Citroen rally lines up with a cycle event!
