Having been involved with a Porsche 911 ex-Beruit (with damage it got in the civil war including a severely dented roof) the use of one's back in your case preferably with a bit of thick carpet as padding was in fact very obvious! Trying to push on small areas would have been totally wrong! Full marks to your dad! Now the big dent is out it IS time to try the remaining smaller ones with the minimum of pressure until they pop out. Do not try hammering or you risk stretching the steel. In the end they may pop up above the roof profile and you then are into delicate panel beating or popping them back in and using epoxy filler.

Thanks again although I meant the wires on the positive terminal had bean eaten through on the section which has a socket and plug. I will make a photo bucket account in the morning to show the wires i repaired and the dents.

I know it's silly to recycle the old spade ends, but i wont have acess to any until after the weekend and then i wont have time and i want to test the engine, suspension and gearbox/clutch to see if anything major needs doing.

citronut wrote:trouble with Citroën wiring is there are bunch's of same colour's ( green, brown and some grey ), these colours dont mean a thing as they should have coloured markers on each wire, this is what tell you were each wire goes,
so if mees's have eaten the end with the colour indicators on it makes it a bit more difficult to sort out,

to determine which wire goes were on the coil just check for a live feed with the ignition switched on, this obviously goes to the terminal with a + next to it, the others go to the - terminal, except the one from the radio suppressor which goes to the +/love side of the coil,

sorry to bother you again malcolm but which negative terminal does the wire from the distributor go to then? the terminal near the windscreen or away from the windscreen, and what goes on the final terminal? cheers

unfortunatley when i tried to get the car to start today, i found that far more wires had been eaten! the wire which goes from distributor to coil (lt) whaich has an odd pug on the end has been cut through and then other end probibly digested. the wires underneath the coil is where the mouse nested and ate a lot of the wires in that corner. The wires from ignition swithch to coil have also gone and 3 wires behind the offside headlight have also been eaten and that is just what i could see under the bonnet, i can only imagen what else has been eaten! the king lead has also been cut through and my spare isnt long enough! i will go and make a photo bucket account and show what the little barstuard has done!

that plug connector is from the electronic ignition module to the distributor,

usually the coil terminals have plus and minus symbols emboss't into the backerlite,

i should have some of the leads to link the module to the dizzy,

i like the new head lamp, but for MOT purposes you will need a matching pair

Nice one Mat! At that price I think I'll stick to the 6 LED ones from the poundshop. Rechargeable too if you select the appropriate AAA batteries.

what a total bargain!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...
