So we have 4 BXs in our household the 4th as a reult of a Mitsi auto box losing the ability to go into reverse and overdrive.
BX 1, Cooling system fault, heater tap, Dicky starter motor, high fuel consumption, iffy speedo reads 100kph actual 106kph.
BX 2, Door panel needs a spray, interior needs a tidy up, basically cosmetic, cracked taillights that kind of stuff, Hydraulic light comes on on corners for no reason, Speedo this time you need to be on 120kph to be doing 100 kph!!! Auto box has now decided to dribble possibly due to disturbance of recent CV boot change?
BX3, Leaky sunroof (taped and sealed), minor dribble in heater matrix (catch tray installed), broken pedal housing, Sunvisor fell off, No ignition barrel and carb thats a bitch to get going but the reason its off the road is the Rear arms creak. Missus wont drive it so scavenged for parts one day.
Of those three which one to keep now thats the million dollar question.
How many BXs to make one BX work?

Should be able to sort both 1 and 2 by taking parts off of 3

Coming down to funds and tools
The cooling system issues, poor fuel consumption probably resulting from a carb fault which has become even more evident with the arrival of the Auto of the same model. Are really not helping matters.
Three vehicles or at least two have to go! Me being a BX hoarder pretty hard to choose!

Re: How many BXs to make one BX work?
So on serious contemplation BX1 is I am afraid leving the road until either such time as it can be fixed or not at all
Interiors been taken out to be placed in the other 19TZS Auto (BX2) few bits n pieces swaped over. While I had the rear panel off I had to break the virgin seal to replace the rear drivers side window motor. Quite an easy task with just 3 bolts and bit wriggle to get the gearing lined up. This was done using the motors from a passed on BX! Incidentally to note the front motors fit the rear and vica versa. Obviously not left to right Going to swap as well to save on the repaint.
Once the interior is done then got to unbury the TRS (bx3) from the corner of the gargae and get that running. Ignition barrel, sunvisor, Tyres, rear arms then it should be good for a WOF (MOT). At the very least it will be a useable in an emergency spare car.

Re: How many BXs to make one BX work?
Sadly looks like the 19TZS is becoming the sacrificial lamb.
On the way home today the TXD decided to snap a Handbrake cable.
How ironic a car I paid the least for and was planning to turn to parts is now being resurrected.
