Oxygen Sensor

Post by Ian_Fearn »

Ever since i've had the BX its had running problems at idle.

All sorts has now been changed and the latest theory is that the oxygen sensor is defective.

I've had a look for the oxygen sensor and cannot find it. The PR.net shows it being fitted before what looks to me like a catalytic converter on the exhaust.

Does anybody know if my GTi 8v with distributor type ignition actually has an O2 sensor?

Odd! Does my 16 have one then, its a bit lumpy on idle too, and cuts out if your manoeuvering around on low revs!

Im going to put some injector cleaner through it and give it a good run when its back from the paintshop.

Ian are you going the French Car Show?

Hello I dont know if its any help but RP 4848 16V has no cat (no sensor of course.) It does have an idle valve, sorry cant remember the exact name, that played hell with the slow running when it was full of gunge, a good swim in brake cleaner sorted that.
