Genuine Citroen C4 Picasso roof bars . . . 750 quid (incl.VAT and fitting - so maybe a bit of a bargain when you look at it like that!? )

Don't wish to appear pedantic but I think your confusing roof RAILS with roof bars, rails are the bits bolted through the roof and require a fair bit of labour to fit ( headlining down for a start ) roof bars are the bits that go across the car and simply clamp to the aforementioned rails

and they were 750 quid!

well the parts are quite rare , only two items on ebay
a pair for £195.00
and one odd one for £112.00 ( go figure )
not sure how much labour would be for removing the roof lining , fitting the bars then refitting the roof lining

new picasso longitudinal rails were £300 from citroen , now discontinued
the new replacement kit is over £530 new ouch

I might as well put you all out of your misery I bought them I think they will go colour coded with a xenon conversion very nicely, if you think £155 is pricey the Landrover self levelling HIDs were £750

Well done Mike - I like 'em and look forward to seeing them on your car. Something is worth what ever the market will bear; if that's the going rate and you want some . . . pay up or go without - simple as.

A mate of mine just paid 750 quid for a set of genuine Cit roof bars for his C4 Picasso; two strips of metal and a few nuts and bolts . . .£750!! In the context of what folks pay for trifling stuff for brand new cars I don't think 150 quid for some rare BX Morettes looks quite so bad. Maybe BXers have been spoilt by dime store banger bargain pricing in the past - for better or for worse that maybe set to change by the look of it.

I have to agree, if we think our parts/cars are not worth much then what's Joe Public (nearly said plebs!) going to think of our funny old French cars. Had I thought those lights would actually have got fitted and not just been dumped in my shed then I would gladly have paid more. I'm glad they'll go to another enthusiast to be used and if not I'm sure there'll be a ready market for them in the future.
