/\ Annoyingly (sometimes) they work from 60yards. It means I accidentally unlock my car!
Worth it though, you can even get a blade cut!
Don't leave one plugged in when welding though.......

It is a rediculous price that genuine one. I'd say that's £25 tops and that's if you're uber desperate for authenticity, plus, like Defender says, you need to be touching the car, standing on one leg, rubbing your tummy and patting your head with a warm south westerly of at least 50mph!

The aftermarket ones are great. I went for one with a sliding panel over the buttons, so you can't accidentally unlock it. It's so nice to be able to unlock the car as you approach it, so you get immediate boot access.

I wonder if a set of jump leads from the battery to each big toe would increase the range :?: :D

Have you tried this; unlock the car with the key, get in, lock it by pushing down the tab on the door, then hold the plip right next to the receiver 'blob'? Bingo!! Works everytime! :D

I have thought about an aftermarket one. But I don't have any trouble opening the door with the key but if ever a plip comes up at the right money I would like it to work as it should. Regardless of how useless they are compared to modern systems. But not like enough to spend £150  .

I haven't no, but I don't have one anymore. My TZD Hurricane worked as I described (before it met a tree :-() and my 16v didn't come with one.
The Hurricane prooved so crap that I wasn't bothered not to get one in the 16v and the aftermarket ones work a treat...

At 150 quid the guy is taking the piss a bit (or even a lot!), but I recently paid 50 quid for a brand new one with the receiver unit from another forum member. Top dollar probably, but I think that's more or less the going rate for what is now a very rare piece of kit. Like lots of rare BX stuff, in future if you want one, you're just going to have to dig deep and pay up.

Hello all...

As the seller of this item, I was directed here by one of you guys. You are probably correct that it won't sell for what I have listed it for, although have had an offer from a 205 GTI owner for £75, but it is a testing the water type of sale, if it doesn't sell, then it's not a train smash, more akin to putting your house on the market at a high price to see if anyone bites, when you haven't found anywhere to move to.

Anyway, if we use Peugeot 205 GTI parts as a comparison, parts that are rare to find are attracting quite a premium at present and my sale is more aimed at that niche of the market.
Take a look at these mudflaps for example...are BX mudflaps getting silly prices?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/205-Gti-Front ... 337f90f626

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Peugeot-205-G ... true&rt=nc

It seems that the market for the rarer parts and any parts that are no longer available from dealers have suddenly hit a renaisance, likewise the value of 205's is shooting up somewhat, whether they are selling is an unknown, but standard and original cars and the rarer parts are in high demand. I must confess I don't know how the market sits for BX's and their rarer parts as I don't follow them now like I did maybe 10 years ago. I like my new stuff now, so now have a DS3.

Oh and the westerly wind was only about 40mph when I tested it, so this must be one of the better ones, so if someone off here wants it, then feel free to get in touch and make an offer, but it doesn't need to be anywhere near £150 !!!

Can't blame you for tryin' fella' - sorry we took the piss a bit - we're a nice bunch really (mostly! :D ). As I said earlier, rare authentic accessory type kit is going to start commanding premium prices and it'll be pay up or go without - on his occasion you might have over egged the pudding just a touch! (Oh and welcome to the forum btw 8) )

Keep watching the other set, the new owner of this set may be disapointed if they don't fetch much more that the current £146 but still 3 days to go :-)
