Gloria's up for her MOT tomorrow.

Post by Mothman »

Looks like Gloria is up for her MOT tomorrow at 3pm.

First one in many a year, thanks to Malcolm's fettling i hope she passes.
She has been repiped, a bit of welding plus numerous other bits but brought back to life by Malcolm and i intend to use her well.

Hope to pick her up this coming Saturday. Cant wait but Mollie will have to go out in the cold for a while.

On another tack, having fixed Sophie's heater matrix problems, had her up to 120 KPH [80 plus] the other day for the first time at this speed and she didnt miss a beat with no water loss. No smell of antifreeze inside either, a problem she has always had before i fixed her.

Mollie is getting there to. With 3 Mk 1s, one of the fleet has to go but its so hard to chose, cant bear to sell one!!

SHE PASSED!!!!! Just spoke to Malcolm, no advisories and drives real well so i will be picking her up on Saturday morning.
This is the first time she has been on the road for nearly 11 years. Previous owner had her for 24 years so ime told.
A big thank you to Malcolm for all his hard work and a steak dinner for me!!

I cant drive them both ime afraid and the problem with Sophie being a left hooker will be trying to pay the toll over the Thames. Of all my BXs at the moment, Sophie is also my fave and is now driving really well since her great heater matrix problems.
I will decide closer to the time but the plan is to bring a MK 1 to the X rally.

I think you are right Malcolm, pity i had you remove the towbar, could have put Sophie on a trailer!!
Going through the Dartford tunnel would be a bit of a problem too. Will experience that escaping from Cornwall in the summer if i take Sophie to Looe.
Anyway, you have done a grand job. Thanks bud.
