vulgalour wrote:Looks like I've probably been stood up on the sale of the Maestro, which is bloody annoying because that would've allowed me to get the BX on Wednesday and now I'm going to have to find another solution instead, probably the scrapyard which is not what I wanted to do to the Maestro. Hasn't stopped me thinking about wheels and BXs though and I've discovered that there's a three spoke Saab wheel that shares the same PCD and centre bore as the BX though with a different offset. You'd end up with something a bit like this.

I'd also be tempted to get some tint on too, for the full effect.

So that might be something I do to stripey BX, providing I can get all the other jobs sorted obviously.
Mr Vulgalour, are you a genius with photoshop or similar?

I could I ask a wee favour?
I've often been a fan of cars with white wheels. The previous owner of my white TGD painted his trims white and they looked rather good. Would you be able to make a picture of a white BX with white speedlines?

Like this one: Image

Sorry to be cheeky and don't worry if it's a lot of effort.

You even commented on this thread and said they looked naff...

Or this is a real photo, now scrapped but I think the wheels may still be available.

You'd need to change the black sills to white & do the rubbing strips as well to create the white-out look :)

Blimey! How can I be expected to remember that?! It was almost exactly 4 years ago! ;-)
I cant see the real photo, but don't worry mate, I think Tim is right actually, that would be too much on a white car. In hind sight they might suit a highly super dooper polished shiney red one.

Hmm, think I'll stick to silver or black!

Yes I could do the Photoshop, but it looks like I shan't have to! This place moves fast when it wants to. Speedlines, I reckon, look better in darker colours. Has anyone ever polished a set of speedlines? I reckon that could look pretty exciting.

You can overcook any BX on the front end. If you don't give the car notice in writing that you want to go round a corner then /\ that's going to happen, 165's or 195's.

loving the metro in the back there!

Seconded! I had to do an unexpected right hand down in the St Tropez in a manner that would not have fazed my MX3. The alarming body roll with associated noises quickly woke me up to the fact that I wasn't in my MX3, suitably underscored with clenched sphincter muscles. Suffice to say, my BX steering wheel movements are now exclusively gentle and deliberate...
