Maybe after driving a selection of NA diesels you're just still getting used to counteracting the extra performance of the Turbo

I have noticed that the front bumper appears to be losing paint at a steady rate. Plans are afoot to swap the entire thing for one with less blingy stuff. I don't really want spotlights or a splitter (already claimed!).

kinda silly question but do you know the grill between the bonnet and the bumper with the 2 chrome strips going across it, do the strips only come on certain models ?

I thought it was all TX models regardless of petrol or diesel. My Tzd Turbo came with the standard black one, it was swapped for the silver one which always looked nicer i thought, my txd has the silver one as standard :)

The BX was absolutely caked in tar spots - in places there was more black than silver. Not very pleasant to remove, but much nicer now!

Turtle Wax Tar and Bug Remover, and a plastic credit card. The card was necessary to 'crack' the surface of the spots. Then hard scrubbing got it clean. I blame this desire to clean my cars on you by the way. You've shamed me with your work on Stripey!

I even cracked out the Autoglym but after both front wings, realised there's no sodding point. Every panel seems to have a small dent in it and the lacquer is utterly ruined in several places.

Had the gearbox oil level checked today. My tame mechanic managed to get pretty much a litre of fresh oil in. Oops. Gearchange seems to have improved...

I'm facing up to the fact that I might have to get rid of this really rather marvellous car. It's amazing how much more practical the estate is given how similar the two cars are. Gaining a sunroof and map reading lights has not been the life-changing experience I hoped for.

Hardly in a rush to sell, as it's been absolutely superb, but I'm going to start looking for a turbo diesel estate. I suspect finding one in similar condition to this will be a lengthy and potentially expensive search. You don't miss that lower load lip until it's gone though! I also miss the estate's superior rear visibility.
