That's sad. I'm entirely flexible about when we do this thing but I guess others may not be.

I'm still up for it, though I doubt I'll do the whole six days....young family and all that!

Might bomb up for the start and then leave after 2 or 3 days, or something. It's a full day trip just to get up there for me!

Myself and Rohan may be able to come along for a day or two depending on the itinerary, can't do the whole thing as I'm currently working as a temp so won't have holiday time  I would definitely check with the campsites for availability though as the Scottish school holidays are staggered and seem to start from around 26th June.

I think that's the real beauty of these sorts of events. People can dip in and out. Will be good to catch up with folk for sure.

I imagine so. Doesn't have the feel of a very-organised sort of an event, but it might be all the better for that! As far as I'm concerned, we're heading up Gretna sort of way one weekend in June, and then driving around Scotland for a week.

I'm definitely still up for doing it. It's one of the reason's I'm putting the 16v on the road this year.

Always wanted to bomb right up the top of Scotland in that car.

Definitely still on. Dates are fixed. Proposing 1st night stopover/camping at Hoddom Castle campsite ( just google it if you want to check it out first ). Set sat nav for M6 north and off you go. Trying to keep it non regimented and quite fluidic.

Mat suggested some 'wild' camping and I myself are most definitely up for that. We can make it up as we go along really. Loads of campsites and self catering cottages up Scotland. I would like to stay at the campsite up in Applecross, as its one I've not crossed off my list.

I suggest any specific areas that people want to visit, list them up on this thread and we can incorporate them into the route plan ( such as it is ).

I've been a bit neglectful with this I admit, what with redundancy at Christmas and my Dad's had another stroke, i've just been some what pre-occupied.

Plenty of whisky distilleries to vist, especially up in the highlands!! :-))

If anybody wants commemorative plaques/stickers doing I'll ask Phil to forward me the PDF for the artwork he's already done and I'll get some made up.

Any Q's just ask. Cheers Mark. :)

I'm perfectly happy to spend our evenings deciding where we'll go the next day, as long as we don't think the campsites will fill up.

I'd quite happily give John O Groats a miss, but would like to explore the north coast a bit more.

I'm all for this - there's not that much choice of roads up there so planning doesn't need to be in too much detail! The only danger could be that it's so relaxed it never happens, but I don't think that's a worry now a date has been set.

I can't confirm 100%, as to be fair I need to plan things around our main holiday which is likely to be in July. But I'm pretty sure I will make it :)
