Not long now! getting quite excited....new plugs, wiper blades, charged battery, can of lubricant and easy start and 3 litres of LHM plus some oil and basic tools packed up ready.

All systems go 10am Monday!

As the cars been off the road since 1999 and before sorn came into affect will this cause an issue? Is still on DVLA records as "unlicenced"

If you end up needing any more tools etc Tim, just shout, as I won't be with you till 3ish. With the tax, my GT is in the same boat, if it's on the DVLA's system I think you just have to fill in a V10 form. Worth checking though, I looked this up last year.

The length of time it's been off the road shouldn't be a problem. As it's on the computer you should be able to send off whatever V5 it currently has and you'll get a nice current type one back in the post.

As it's been off the road since before SORN was introduced there's no requirement to SORN it once in your name like you have to with SORNed cars, although I believe you can still do this if you wish.

Once it's ready to be taxed this can be done the same as any other car that's been off the road and isn't due SORN renewal.

Just go to do a trip (or two) to the tip to get rid of all the rubbish, and we have an empty garage! It's taken me 5 evenings to empty and sort our utility room, and to empty the full garage (stuff from garage went in utility room). I'm knackered now! But will save myself £40 a month when the estate is residing at Leech towers.

Unless of course another motor comes up in your area, then it could become an ongoing service to the Club!

If storage does become an issue, I may be able to find it a space near Warminster for a while.

Could be! I could be the BXC's southern representative, saving BX's throughout the south :D

Not in any rush to get rid of the garage Tim, so don't feel like you have to shift it ASAP, i'm sure we can come to some sort of arrangement anyway. Garage now officially cleared, the nice man at the tip even helped me empty all the stuff I crammed into the TXD, turns out he was a BX fan back in "the day"! Also swept and the vagrant millions of spiders evacuated, although i'm sure they'll be back...

Lol, even i'm getting excited now.
