Original engine, have you had to do any work on the powerplant at all? If not, that's quite impressive, but i've heard that the petrol engines as long as the servicing is spot on & the coolant changed regularly, then they can do diesel mileage.

Looks like a twin to my TZi!

TZi is my daily at the moment as the 16V is getting a major mechanical overhaul. Details to follow.

Out of interest, what's considered a high mileage car over there? I guess that as it's a huge country, average mileages are higher. And long journeys aren't as hard on the car as the same number of miles done in sort trips, so I suppose that helps longevity of the mechanicals.

What is considered High mileage (Kilometres [Kms]) really depends on who you are. It is a huge country, but we all live around the coasts. I live 14Kms from work. You can do a couple of thousand kilometres in a few days if you travel interstate but I only do that once every few years.

Anything over 100K Kms is considered getting on the higher side to most of the second hand market. It's reasonably rare to find a BX that's done less that 200K Km.

Have a look on carsales.com.au if you're really keen.

Progress from Monday:

Also changed the height corrector for a clean one and did some general tidying up whilst it was engineless. Didn't bother with the octopus as it was well routed and seemed supple and young enough to not disturb, hopefully i've saved my spare for another year or so.

Driveshafts are back in today, hopefully play with the FDV/regulator today!

It's driving! Didn't have too many drama's getting it going.

It now has a reasonably new clutch, smooth gearbox, recently reconditioned HP pump and FDV, New droplinks, lower balljoint boots, Nicer passenger side driveshaft with an intact boot, Bakerbm cooling hoses, newish radiator, good engine mounts, new fluids, heat-shield, some paint, and a clean up.

It also has a Peter T eprom to suit an engine that was built to a similar specification.

Drove it to and from work this afternoon/night which went well.
