There's only one logical way to resolve this perennial argument (scrap v renovate) once and for all. To this end, I shall cut the next batch of flapjack into triangles.

Its an awesome car, but lhd mk1's are still farily common in Europe & you've got so many cars that need work doing to them, so i can fully understand the dilemma. If it keeps your Yellow one on the road, then it makes sense to do what you've proposed. Its a shame, but its only a mk1 ;)

Todd, re the stripes, any half decent graphics company should be able to make a set up from pictures and your measurements

They could Mick, but stuck on stripes will look quite naff compared to the blended in paintwork stripes.

Reminds me of years ago when a "Go Faster" stripe was a big seller of Halfords etc to those who wanted to give off an aura of "coolness".

Lol W2G graphics as they call them now have come on a long way since halfords stripes / backflashes and stickets of wylie coyote and the tasmanian devil, funnily enough I think I still have some of them in the shed including the water skier you used to stick on the end of a pinstripe

Never used the prismatic tape, but in a change to the usual blacked out windows I fitted holographic window tint to my AZU!

Do you have a front bumper for a mk1?
Also would you be able to post it to New Zealand? Cheers David

David, I will be keeping the front bumper for my yellow one as a spare as its condition is so good. I don't need the rear bumper as it doesn't fit on my break.
Tim, I am not breaking my 16v as the parts would not be useful for my yellow one, also I like it too much and have also expended quite a lot of sweat on it already to get it roadworthy, but I'm not quite there yet.

Yes, I'm a bit of a sucker for the old speed stripes and go-faster accessories. My father-in-law recently presented me with a job lot of three or four complete speed stripe sets from the 80s that he'd bought in a clearance sale at an auto factors - I haven't found a place for them yet. And there was a bloke selling a complete 'new old stock' bodykit for a Mk.1 BX saloon - unpainted and unfitted - last week on Ebay for €150 and I was drooling a bit over that.

The wheels - Swift 2s - which were only available as a BX extra in Germany will be sold. I was planning to bring two sets over to Uk this summer - if I can fit them in - as people have expressed an interest. Recently the price of these, even in Germany where they used to be relatively available has gone up a bit owing to scarcity. This set sold yesterday on EBAY here.
