FUEl CONsumption on my 91 BX TZD HELP!

HEllo Guys,im writing you from Uruguay since doing research on the net,i find out about your bx club.
A month ago i bought this Citroen Bx TZD ,1.9 turbodiesel, i love it,its a pleasure to drive,but when i did numbers of how many kilometers per liter it had gave me it came out only to be 12 kms per liter! This on a mix drive, higway and city,not really heavy traffic.
My question to you guys is that if im among the parameters to expect or i should get much more than those 12 kml per liter.
I was expecting much more,at least 15 mix and at least 17 km liter on highway.DIdnt try only highway yet.

No such thing as a 1.9 Turbo Diesel, perhaps thats the problem

There was no such thing as a 19TD, but they have become more common in recent years. Perhaps if ithas been swapped then maybe something relevent hasn't...?

you mean is not uncommon to call it 1.9 or is not uncommon the 12 km per liter average that it gives me?

FYI = For Your Information. The vast majority of Turbo Diesels are 1769cc. 12km per litre sound far too low. Check the fuel lines for leaks as a starting point.
