Hello ,if I may suggest one thing, because 'they are never checked' ,well to be honest who bothers? The valve clearances, I found 2 very tight ones on mine.(down to 3 thous.) It does make a difference.
The way the fueling is set up can make one hell of a difference.1.9 NA diesel in economy mode 70 MPG, Would not put the skin off a rice pudding, turn the fueling up and 40 MPG and goes well.Sorry TFB.
Cheers.
Geoff.

You wouldn't want it Matthew, really. When Richie was a 19RD with a turned down pump sure, it would do 70MPG up hill, down dale, but it was so boring I'm prety sure I died of old age many times over before reaching the end of the journey.

That said, I have noticed with the TD lump running a somewhat retarded pump setting at the moment (for reasons that are dull) it's doing rather more to the gallon than it had been with the timing spot on!
Smokes lots, because enough's enough already!

Far too many BX's, a bus, an ambulance a few trucks, not enough time and never enough cash...
