Buy in condition! The 1.9 carb goes well and have enough power to cope with the auto box.
Identical to Rich's car and IMHO worth if its as tidy as it looks!

Thanks for the info! The tyres had barely stopped rolling from the auction floor before it was put on ebay!
Does anyone know what the price paid was at the auction just out of interest?

I like the extra addition of the two dots to the right of the gear selector to tell you which is reverse and drive.

That is quite tempting. I've got quite used to my Merc's slushbox and was thinking that a BX auto would be a very nice way to travel!

It does look a tidy model, and at that price looks quite tempting! Its only a 4hr train journey and £43 ticket. Must stop myself....
My 1.9TRS had a GTi rear spoiler on it, but this one has the 16v style spoiler on it. Which one was correct for this car does anyone know?

That's the correct ducktail spoiler - not the 16v one, which is flatter, and not the 'pram handle' either.

Thanks Dolly, my knowledge is still about 15 years out of date on BX's, but I'm slowly (re)learning.

The ducktail is made from a soft spongey rubber as opposed to the harder valver spoilerr

Which are Identical to the Hurricane models !Dollywobbler wrote:That's the correct ducktail spoiler - not the 16v one, which is flatter, and not the 'pram handle' either.

Or as Tim posted up the 'Special Edition' from OZ which had the '4TC' dash and a slightly different 'duck-tail' spoiler !

Richard there with an excerpt from his forthcoming book, Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About BX Spoilers but were Afraid to Ask. Out in paperback later this month - sure to be topping the best seller list.

^ lol!
Don't dis-encourage(!) the man, I didn't know there were so many different types.
Not too keen on the grand-daddy spoiler though, it comes down too far for my liking. The valver one is very nice though....
