Wanted - 16v dizzy cap and rotor arm

Post by djoptix »

There seem to be lots available, but I'm not sure about variations in quality. My 16v won't start and I suspect something electrical, so I'm going through and basically re-doing the top end - what should I look for, and/or does anyone have one they'd like to sell me?

I've always used ducellier without problems. The caps used to come with the white backplate as well, which often cracks.

Need some myself actually! Thanks for reminding me.

Looks like GSF have Ducellier ones, and ECP have Beru, but ECP's are all out of stock. Might pay a visit to GSF then.

I think Ducellier is the OE and thanks to Doc I'm reluctant to trust ANY other brand! Bless him. I suspect any of the 'usual' names will be just as good, just don't buy a make with Premier in the name!

I too have a 16v ignition related anomaly, replace all the parts I will!

IIRC i bought a 16V rotor off ebay for the stockpile a while back. It was badly listed, but several were available. I'll see if i can find it in my history...

Found It:

Quality looks perfectly fine on the one i got.

GSF also have Beru in stock (apparently) http://www.ebay.co.uk/380556482425" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

have an eyeball on bx16v forum I've posted up how to do the fault code reading, I have been through this process my self, plugs leads cap rotor arm coil engine coolant temperature sensor for ECU next up is Air Flow Meter as it incorporates the Intake Air Temperature sensor which might explain my symptoms, car will start first pop on a freezing cold winter morning but is an absolute bitch to start in more temperate days.
